water under car...air con cndensation?

Post by matt_j_smith »

Hi.

Odd one. I pulled into my drive the last two nights and noticed a trail of water. Wen I look under the car, with the engine running, there's a constant drip from a plastic under tray roughly under the centre arm rest. Water doesn't particularly spell of anything. Coolant level is ok. I did jet wash the car, but that was 200miles ago now..and ita too constant for trapped water. I have however just started using the air con constantly...is this just condensation? seems a lot!!!

Cheers!

Sounds like condensation from the A/C . Perfectly normal

You'd be surprised how little volume of water it takes to 'look' like a bucket load !

If you're worried about it just stick your finger in it and lick it.. if it tastes plan or rather like floor then you know what it is. If it tastes like oil or stings then you know it's oil or coolant..
Coolant would also be red.
