Merlin Cloth

Post by easybreeze »

Hi,

Ordered my Scirocco last week, about 10 -14 week wait now :grumpy:

Still not seen a proper pic of the Merlin Cloth interior and wondered if anyone has managed to find one? Also with the cloth, is the armrest leather or cloth?

Thanks

:dancer:

Wow, thanks Martdy!

Shame that the armrest is cloth :grumpy:

Didn't realise the model deletion removed the Scirocco badge too :fall: trying to cancel that option - damn it! didn't really want TDI on it

easybreeze you may be one of the first to order a tdi on here, some have muted it but been drawn by the smell of petrol in the end

I'm coming from a Astra VXR for the last 3 years, although the speed is great - after 3 years and 90,000 miles later... you realise you'll hardly ever use all it's power anyway (easy for me to say while I've still got it though :) ). Also I tend to cruise to save petrol anyway so the Diesel (which is reportedly very quiet and torquey) seems ideal (although the 170 would have been better but still not available :( )

I spent ages trying to choose a car, ended up ordering and cancelling a Focus ST, then an Alfa GT... looked in to BMW 118d M-Sport and an A3 1.9 S-Line but when the Scirocco become available it seemed to tick all the boxes! power / looks / gadgets / comfort and price
Took a trip to the dealer next day and had a quick test drive and was amazed! looks soo much better in the flesh and makes you feel really special - the wow factor!

I just can't wait... especially to have he touch screen system 8)

Sounds like you've done your homework, now the agonising wait begins!
As far as badge deletion ,you can probably change most things up until you car has a confirmed build date but It might delay it a bit (guess what I did!)

Just got a call that I'd have to cancel and reorder to cancel that option - scrapped that and just keeping as is!
No delivery day yet but I'm going through a leasing company via work - just waiting for the status to include delivery date :jump:

Welcome to the club easybreeze, looking forward to hearing what the TDI is like...
For me it's the other way round, I am not driving the 2.0TSI after driving only Diesels for the past couple of years (including the latest A4 with more or less the same engine you are getting)

By the way, does the budge deletion include the VW budge (on the back) as well?

No just the model. I thought it was just the engine (2.0 TDI) badge but turns out it's the SCIROCCO badge too :( Gonna have to buy one after

What was the TDI like? noisey? fast?

Thanks
