Alarm not working

Hi guys.
I have a 2016 gt 2.0 tdi. I bought it a couple of years ago from a vw dealer. The car was almost brand new as it had only 5000 miles. So far I haven't had any problem with it but lately I've realised I can't set the alarm off in any way (I've tried everything). I thought the dealer disabled the alarm as when I went to see it the first time the battery was dead. I've checked the fuses and they seems ok. The light of the button on the pillar is on (red) but when I press it, the light doesn't change (it should go yellow). The only thing I have when iI lock the car is the red blinking light on the door. Any idea what it could be? Thank you
