I was fitting some new mud flaps as the previous one was broken in half when someone scuffed my rear bumper on this side (rear right). The scuffing wasn't significant, I was able to get the marks away with a touch-up pen and you honestly you wouldn't notice, it bumped the bumper a bit out of place which also broke this mudflap. I was able to get the bumper back right (just popped in again). I posted about that broken 'mud' flap here. http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =2&t=27524" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
That incident which made the bumper pop a bit out of place and breaks that mud flap has most likely damaged a bit of that paint right there.
Today I was fitting the new mud flap and I noticed some minor rust/corrosion.
So I have two questions:
1. Any of you guys are noticing the same (or somewhere else on the arches). If yes, what did you do etc.
2. What can I do to slow it down (are there not some kind of sprays out there etc)?
I'll probably just send these pictures to some bodyshops and ask for an invoice or something. They will probably just need to sand it down and respray?
Car is a 2009 2.0 TSI btw. I live in Belgium and there is quite a bit of salt and shit on the roads in the winter. My car is stored in a garage though.
First signs of rust on the rear arch.

My arches are all bubbled and severely rusted. Same year 2.0 tsi gt black. Took to VW cause still under paint warranty. Basically fed me a load of crap that it's been painted in past even though I proved them wrong and refuse to fix it.

Yeah I'll take some tomorrow for you. I also have rusting with the rear sub frame and shocks. They all need replacing soon. I do a lot of motorway driving which are salted heavily so probably that caused it. All needs sanding down and re priming. Not sure if I'll respray or wrap after that though. Tempted to go satin gray.

Here you go. Other sides the same plus a random rust spot coming through middle of rear side panel
