Downpipe with sportcat, tune needed?

Post by Oscirocco »

Hello

I’ve got a 2.0Tsi Gt with a cobra sport catback exhaust installed for a nicer exhaust note and now im looking into a downpipe for some additional eargasm. But im a newbie when it comes to downpipes so Im wondering if a tune is needed if I were to install it? Or will it run fine without? I have a stage 1 tune (260hk /380nm, havent had it on a dyno though), can that interfere negatively with the new downpipe?

Is it hard to install? Do I get a lot of faulty codes?

easy enough to install if you know what your doing, You may get codes but that can be removed with a map.

Okay, but about how much power can u expect to get out of a downpipe tune? Is there a risk I might have to get a new clutch?

you should get 20-30 more hp with stage 2. I have loba 402 installed with stock clutch, but mine has dsg though

Okay, thank you for the answer :) Im not too sure though yet what brand to buy, any tips? I found one decently priced from TA-technix, 3', but im not sure about the quality really... I know that when talking about coilovers, TA-technix is usually the cheapest ones u can get and you kinda get what you pay for.
