Re: 2.0 TSI oil?
As long as you use oil that is 5W30 that meets VW504.00 / VW507.00 specification, the brand is down to personal preference. Personally I tend to use Castrol Edge or Shell Helix Ultra but nothing wrong with Total oils. Quantum oils also tend to be good value and are supplied by Fuchs these days. For reference the cars leave the factory with Castrol oils.

What's the difference between 504.00 vs 507.00?Cuprabob wrote:As long as you use oil that is 5W30 that meets VW504.00 / VW507.00 specification, the brand is down to personal preference. This is one is not really compatible with a 2009 2.0 TSI engine right? I looked it up and it has Ford WSS-M2C917-A, VW 505 00, VW 505 01, ACEA B4, VW 500 0

Details of the VW Specs can be found on this link,
https://www.oilspecifications.org/volkswagen.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Difference is one spec is for petrol engines and the other spec is for diesel engines, however the majority of suitable oils meet both and the oil is common to both fuel types.
As far as I'm aware VW505.00 is for Pumpe Duse (PD) diesel engines.

Thanks for the quick reply.
This one is fine for my 2.0 TSI right? It's marked as long life oil as well.

Or should I tip it up with 5w40 instead of 5w30? hahaCuprabob wrote:Yes, that Castrol Edge is fine.

Re: 2.0 TSI oil?
To be honest, 5W40 over 5W30 will offer little or no benefit unless you do track days or drive in an area where there are high ambient temperatures. So either will be more than adequate

Ok I went for the Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30 .
5 liters is enough for an oil change right?
