As anyone done an oil and filter change on the TDI 180 engine as this is my first diesel any tips, info or heads up to any issues i my face would be gratefully received. also how much oil would be required and best type of filter. intend to use Castrol edge oil Thanks Chris.

5 litres of oil will leave enough left over for top ups. Personally. I would just stick with the OEM filter. There are many versions of Castrol Edge therefore make sure the one you use complies with VW507.00

Thank's Cuprabob for the info and tip regarding filter.
Do you access the oil filter from the top of the engine or do you have to remove the splash guard under the engine and remove from bellow.
