So I turned the car on this morning, really strange start up, sounded normal but it jumped straight to circa 900rpm quicker than usual and didn't fluctuate at all, as if it wasn't showing the true engine rpm.
About 2 seconds after I had an EML come on, plugged a scanner in and it's showing Cylinder 1 glow plug.
The car is a 2L 174 TDI 63 plate.
Is this common?, seems early for a glow plug to go. Only modification is an open air intake, always been run on V power as well.
Anyone had to replace one before, what did you pay? Car is going in for a service on Tuesday so might get VW to look at it then as it's under warranty.
Thanks in advance, Lewis

Around 20-25 euro a piece (Beru 0100266040).
