Intervals

Post by NightSky »

Hi guys,
Just bough a sirocco 2009 2.0tsi 107 k miles. I'll get my tensioner detail code checked tomorrow but the question that I had in my mind whether its worth whole chain changed or is still lifetime and its only tensioner that is needed to be changed ?

Thank you

To be honest, if the engine is going to be partly dismantled, it makes sense to change the chain, tensioner and chain runners. Do it all in one to save potential future work. Atleast the majority of the timing chain associated parts.

Yes but the difference in price of changing is significan`t for example one of the members in forums said that tensioner replacement cost him 140pounds and I have been quoted 700 for full chain replcement. That's why I am asking for advice?
