Servicing - South West London

Post by AyBee »

I bought my 2010 R in December and it's due an MOT at the end of this month so I'll probably get it serviced at the same time. Any recommendations for servicing in South West London (I'm in Putney) please? Also, since this is my first service - any precautionary items I should ask them to do?

There is a lookers VW on York Rd (past the giant Wandsworth roundabout from you). Don't know what it's like as it's only recently been redeveloped. Or another in Morden. The one in Walton-on-Thames might be cheaper on labour though as it's further outside london, and a pleasant enough blast down the A3! As they're genuine VW dealers I don't think you could go wrong with any of em.

I did also drive past a place called the German Motor Company in Southfields the other day (opposite the Joe Macari sports car showroom - which is worth a look on its own!). Seemed pretty professional and Google reviews are good. I might pay it a visit if I was less bothered about having immaculate service history!

Don't have an R I'm afraid to answer your other question.

Thanks for the reply - hadn't seen them. Was looking at Mastertechs in Morden. Unfortunately the last owner decided that she'd get the last service done by a friend at Halfords so, whilst I'm not concerned that it wasn't done properly because it was done by a friend, I don't think there's much benefit in continuing to get the servicing done by VW main dealers, but I do want it to go to a specialist who knows what they're looking at.

It may just be the two of us. If you have VCDS, you'll be my new best friend!
