Buying new parts

Post by paddyz1 »

When buying genuine VW Scirocco parts it would be a good idea to tell us the cost of said part. I will start with:

Inlet manifold £470 (vat already added)
2.0ltr tdi 2010.

How much was the timing chain tensioner in labor? They have to take the engine out right?

Ah rlly? I asked VW to check it when I replaced my inlet manifold a few weeks ago.. They told me that they had to take the whole engine out to check it, since I was already upto 800€+ for the inlet (including labor) I didn't push them to check tensioner but they did have a listen to it in when it's cold and told me they didn't hear anything strange, that the car wasn't misfiring etc. So hopefully everything is going well.

When I asked them about the chain tensioner, they instantly knew what I was on about.
