Sold my Scirocco.... and bought a Scirocco! (more pics)
After 6.5 very happy and pretty much fault free years with my RB GT 2.0TSi DSG it's finally gone elsewhere. Outside now we have an Ultra-Violet 220HP Rline with DSG, xenons, DCC and dynaudio ....and it's bloody gorgeous (no pics yet due to inclement weather).
My old one, which is low mileage stonker of a car, has gone to a VW dealer in the SW. Don't know if they're selling it or chucking it to auctions but if I see it for sale I'll bung a note up here so that I can give anyone considering it the full history. The dealer didn't seem to want my folder of receipts so I'd be able to offer that to any buyer as well. I shall miss her.

Was just looking at an Ultraviolet one at my local dealers yesterday. Absolutely stunning colour although it does look like one of those colours that would be a nightmare to.keep clean.
Enjoy your new one...

Re: Sold my Scirocco.... and bought a Scirocco! (pic added)
I managed to get one dry pic thus far but will get more when the weather (i.e. Sun!) shows off the colour far better than dull and dreary does.
After only one day I have noticed a massive downside of the 220hp DSG, the exhaust doesn't "pop" on upshifts But that could be due to a lack of practice or just this DSG and I not knowing each too well yet.
Apart from that, I'm loving this beastie and it gets a lot more admiring looks than my Rising Blue did. I agree it may be a bugger to keep looking clean but time will tell on that. More better pics when the sun shines!

Lovely car Bill, my guess is that it's not brand new as I don't think they do the 220PS now (apart from the GTS).
Enjoy it!

Do you mind saying which dealer / group in the south-west took the blue one off your hands?

It went to Bath VW (Mon Motors) but of course it could be anywhere now!Deagol wrote:Do you mind saying which dealer / group in the south-west took the blue one off your hands?

From where I'm sat, that is nearly the Midlands ! !
But I take your point about a subsequent relocation.
Thanks

As any UV owner will tell you, it will look a different colour every time you see it and sure enough mine has changed colour!
Not an easy colour to photograph! It doesn't help that my colour vision is dodgy but my phone seems to struggle with it. I'm going to have to point my Canon EOS at it.
Impressions of the beastie so far - the 220HP feels noticeably quicker than my 210HP did. You'd think it would feel about the same but there's definitely a difference (well, to me anyway!). I'd avoided the 180's because after driving one I felt the mid-range lacked punch compared to the 210 and this one has plenty too. I'm glad I spent ages hunting for one with DCC, I found R-Lines without it felt harsh to my backside but the DCC definitely improves on that. It's firmer than my 210 (19" wheels vs 18") but she'll be fine on long trips.
I still can't get the exhaust to "pop" on upshifts and I can't believe how annoying that is! I really miss it!
