Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Installed the headlights today, changes the look of the car instantly. Next thing to do is add the extra wiring and highline BCM instalation. (Bulbs: Philips 4800k xtreme vision)

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Please make a guide on how to change the bcm . I'm going to do the the facelift headlight's mod . I have the bcm but not the headlights. Very hard finding them. May i ask where did you found yours?

Yes they are hard to find, especially if you need the UK ones. I have bought one from german eBay and the other one from a polish site allegro.pl a forum member gave me this site. There are guides on the internet just search for golf 6 bcm change, its similar. But will write down the problems i will face.

Tested the high beam also and it works without changing the wiring.
A little bit weird if i must believe the VW wiring diagrams pin 8 is the shutter wire on the facelift.
But it's now sitting on pin 11 so the same pin is used as the pre-facelift xenons.

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
I am looking for the RHD ones... I really feel that i have more chance winning the lottery than finding the the facelift xenons. So did you bought LHD ones? Because ebay germani and allegro only have LHD one?Roy_01 wrote:Yes they are hard to find, especially if you need the UK ones. Yes correct. Maybe better to buy them new but expensive i know.
That its a very rare model isn't always that good.

Hm... Ok... Im thinking to buy the left hand drive ones. Theres a guy that i know that claims he can make them road legal for right hand drive without puting any stickers on the headlight... new ones are way too expensive...

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Interesting, does he change the deflector of the light so the bank light will be cut off?
There is also an option travel mode in vcds but it only lowers both beams, so that is not very ideal.

Honestly i really don't know what is he going to do. but he said i won't have no trouble with MOT. he said that he is going to open the headlight and do something in it . I didn't ask too many questions cause i wanted to buy RHD headlights but I'm it looks like I'm gonna end up with LHD

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Swapped the BCM yesterday to a 5k0 937 087 AB BCM without keyless entry. The module is from 20.10.2014 H122 S0174. I used the following guide for the bcm swap: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do-yo ... odule.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The key programming is in a post below.
Today i run all the wiring to the headlights to the inside of the car. Last job is connecting everything to the bcm, fusebox and xenon level sensor.
Right xenon wiring behind the engine bay insulation
Left xenon wiring run along the fusebox
Wiring coming in through the rubber grommet where the clutch pedal normally sits

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Just learned the second key fob to the new bcm for opening and closing doors
(this is not an immobilizer learning procedure)
- Put one key in the ignition on acc 1 (no running engine) and hold the remote you want to learn in your hand.
- Go to module 09 central electronics
- Go to adaptation channel 00
- Press read, there will be a textbox this will clear all learned remote keys. The new value will be 00 and press save & done go back
- Go to adaptation channel 01 change the new value to the number of keys you want to learn. I did one a a time so put in 1 in the text box.
- Press save and now hold the unlock button of the new key in your hand for a few seconds. According to rosstech the indicator has to flash now but on mine it did nothing.
- Press on done go back within 15 seconds
Now test the keys and repeat the proces if needed. Put the working key in the ignition and hold the unlearned one in your hand.

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Connected the AFS module, facelift headlights to the fusebox and canbus today. So a lot of soldering.
Only have to install the xenon level sensor and then coding everything.
The drl, static and dynamic cornering light will come alive hopefully
If you want the drl/sidelight functional without VCP, connect pin 10 (sidelights) and 12 (drl) together (bridge) right after bcm , but if you want to keep the dimming function of the drl light when the low beam comes on use VCP light setup PQ35 bcm programmer function.
The pinout of the facelift headlight is:
Pin 01 Can-hi <---> AFS T26/04 can hi (left and right merged)
Pin 02 Can-low <---> AFS T26/05 can low (left and right merged)
Pin 04 12V for dynamic/static cornering lights <---> Fusebox fuse 5 (left) and fusebox fuse 6 (right) both 10A
Pin 05 Ground <---> Ground point underneath headlight
Pin 06 Dipped beam <---> BCM T52a/11 (left) and T52c/52 (right)
Pin 07 Ground <---> Ground point underneath headlight
Pin 08 Little square led light (i didn't connect this light) <---> BCM T52C/48 (left) and T52C/49 (right)
Pin 10 Side light (removed front bumper side lights and used this wire) <---> BCM T52C/26 (left) and T52a/44 (right)
Pin 11 Shutter <---> BCM T52a/5 (left) and <---> BCM T52c/46 (right)
Pin 12 DRL 12V <---> BCM T52a/7 (left) and <---> BCM T52a/8 (right)
AFS module J431
T26/02 can high <---> Can gateway J533 T20/e16
T26/03 can low <---> Can gateway J533 T20/e06
T26/04 can hi <---> Headlight pin 01
T26/05 can low <---> Headlight pin 02
T26/07 level sensor rear axle <---> T4ar/04
T26/10 level sensor rear axle <---> T4ar/02
T26/11 level sensor rear axle <---> T4ar/01
T26/23 fuse SC1 (10A) <---> Fusebox SC1
T26/24 ground <---> Ground point a pillar
See pages: 1208, 1049-1053 on wiring diagram.

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Just fitted the fuses and AFS & xenon lights are reachable with vcds. So canbus connections are ok.
Only 1 warning on the dashboard of the corneringlight because the levelsensor is not connected, as expected.
Tonight im gonna play with the AFS adaptation and take a look if the motors will adjust and if the light pattern is still ok.

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Connected the xenon level sensor today.
Basic settings performed by Rosstech procedure underneath. Not totally right because you first have to erase the stored settings.
So have changed this a bit to make it more clear.
Headlight Adjustment
[Select]
[55 - Xenon Range]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select reset all adaptations from the drop-down menu.
[Go!] and press done go back
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select Basic headlamp setting from the drop-down menu.
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting.
The meas. block field will show Running.
Adjust the headlights using their manual adjusting screws as referenced against a suitable aiming target.
Press [Stop] after any needed mechanical adjustments are completed.
Press done go back
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select Acknowledge basic setting
[Go!] to activate the Basic Setting and press done go back
Don't forget to check/clear fault codes afterwards.
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
After this procedure the xenon leveling is working fine.
The only things now to be done is the bcm enhancement with vagcan pro to turn on the output of the cornering lights en led drl.

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Tonight i tested the AFS adaptation channel: presentation mode with succes.
This displays the function of the dynamic cornering lights while not driving the car. It automatically switches off above a certain speed.
But good to know everything works well. Just one vagcan pro / vcds setting needed to unlock it.
Short video i made:

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Today i have bridged the front sidelights with the DRL PIN 10 and 12 just after the BCM.
This puts 12V on both wires what will turn them on at 100% brightness without dimming.
This is temporary because i have to code it with Vagcan pro.
Till then i will keep this bridge in between to have it road legal.
DRL/sidelights working fine now, they are so nice!
Small explanation how the headlight drl dimming works:
0V sidelight pin10 + 12V PWM pin 12 = DRL 100% brightness (drl function)
12V sidelight pin 10 + 6V PWM pin 12 = DRL dimmed as sidelight (sidelight function)

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Tonight i continued with getting the dynamic&static cornering lights up and running. There was still one fault code that caused an AFS fault code in the MFD.

After contact with Ybby i put his AFS coding in with vcds 0A1200000F000200
This will uncheck byte 01 bit 7 in the longcoding and with that i was able to clear the remaining fault code.
After some research i see unchecking this bit will tell that start/stop is not installed.
After turning the engine on the xenon performed it's test dance in every direction. The static and dynamic light are great and a pleasure to drive with at night.
After putting in the new coding the travel mode and bend light options are now available in the mfd.
Only thing left to do is delete the LED indicator fault codes and DRL dimming.
I would like to thank Ybby for his support, couln't have done it without him!
