Catalytic converter light on????

Post by lowfer »

Right guys, looking for a little guidance, topped up with oil on Saturday and then used my car on Sunday, noticed that at idle it was fluctuating revs and a little lumpy, but thought nothing off it, did a 2 hr round trip no problem, off to work this morning and still a little lumpy on idle. Get in the car to come home this evening, the catalytic converter light comes on, drives ok, but feels a little hesitant when i put my foot down, at rest i rev, it settles at 1.2 and then seems to go to 900 at 100 increments. Sorry its a 2.0tsi, on a 60 with 45k only had for 3 months. I have turned off and back on and doesn't rectify

any body had this experience?? thoughts most helpful

You need to get it scanned with VCDS but my money would be on it being a coilpack on the way out.

certainly the other post i have read suggest that,

it seems all roads lead to a faulty coilpack,

Yes, it's a very common problem on modern petrol cars.
