Car pulling to the left after an encounter with a pothole.

Post by matt2e1cpc »

Hi All,

Had a little run in with a pothole recently, killed one of my tyres but it seems it may have caused another problem as well.

Since having the two fronts replaced the car seems adverse to driving in a straight line, I have to turn the wheel quite a bit to the right but when braking it stays in that position so it isn't pulling as such but if I turn the wheel to the normal centre position the car turns heavily to the left.

Tried the obvious things like swapping the front tyres over to see if the problem swaps sides and had the tracking done to no avail, can't see any obvious issues with the springs (nothing seems to have sheared off).

Anyone got any thoughts (other than avoid potholes!)

Thanks,
Matt.

Sounds as if the alignment has been knocked out. Find a local place with a Hunter system and get a 4 wheel geometry check done. Should cost in the region of £80.
