The 6 speed dsg is bathed in a lot of tranny fluid compared to the 7 speed. The 7 speed dsg thus has less sound dampening than the 6 speed dsg which means you hear mechanical parts more in the 7 speed dsg. 7 speed has approximately 1.9 litres of fluid compared to 5-6 litres (someone can confirm the accuracy of this figure) in the 6 speed dsg.

The DSG6 Has more Tranny Oil because it use the same oil in the Clutch , while the DSG7 use 1.7l of tranny oil only for the gearbox , the clutch is DRY .
A VW Scirocco 1.4 6 Speed Manual Gearbox Use 2l(maybe less) of tranny fluid and the clutch is dry too . Why in a manual gearbox with the same amount of oil you can hear NOTHING?

Maybe because a manual has one clutch and less moving parts. We hear gear changes between two separate clutches in the 7 speed dsg. You don't hear clutches switching with a manual because there is only one clutch in the first place.

You have read the ETKA incorrectly my friend..... This isn't right.

That is not when the DSG clutch was updated for the problems, it refers to a production build change when the DSG gearbox changed significantly needing a change of Clutch Pack part. Both the DSG Clutch Pack upto 30.05.11, part nmber 0AM 198 140C (MY2008.5 - MY2011) and DSG Clutch Pack from 31.05.11, part number 0AM 198 140A (MY2012 --->) are the latest revised Clutch Packs. They were both revised at the end of November 2011 along with the diesel equivalents that use the 7 speed DSG.

No you won't find this number on the ETKA. Its one of the revised DSG Clutch Packs as a single part. 0AM 141 017BR is the Clutch Pack's part number.

0AM 198 141A or C is a Clutch Pack REPAIR KIT. It contains besides the Clutch Pack 0AM 141 017BR, the parts needed to perform the replacement in the dealer workshop. In repairing the SEAT Ibiza, the workshop has read the actual Clutch Pack part number for the purposes of invoicing the owner/warranty.

*** 198 **** signifies a Repair Kit when used on ETKA. Many exist and they are always more than the actual part being replaced so the workshop receives the correct sub-parts such as shims, bolts, bearings, split pins for the repair.

No change to the November 2011 DSG Clutch packs. :shake:
