Re: Tigger73's Scirocco R
You should put the footwell LEDs to the same blue as the dash back lighting. Would look much nicer!

Re: Tigger73's Scirocco R
Agree that blue LEDs would look good especially when driving at night. THe kit came with white LEDs with the option for red footwells which I wasn't keen on. May get a set of blue LED bulbs down the track.SciroccoCW wrote:You should put the footwell LEDs to the same blue as the dash back lighting. Would look much nicer!

Picked up the elusive chrome trimmed mirror switch this morning.
It actually isn’t that different from the standard one - except I’ll know it every time I look at it.

Re: Tigger73's Scirocco R
Busy day today. Had the lower control arms fitted:
Before:
After:
Initial impressions are good.
The car definitely feels more planted at the front and steering is more firm and less "floaty". I can still chirp the front wheels but I reckon I can give it a bit more before it breaks traction. Still limited by tyres but I really like how its firmed up the steering.
Still need to get a wheel alignment and then will go for a drive through the hills.

I also pulled the doors apart again and taped up the door warning light wires with the cloth tape. Then zip tied to keep it from rattling inside the door.
Plus installed the chrome trimmed mirror control switch. Took a lot less time second time around to remove the door trims.

Re: Tigger73's Scirocco R
Haven't done much to it lately so not a whole lot to report.
Had it's 2 year service done and first set of tyres changed at 35,000km.
Also had the steering wheel control module replaced under warranty as I had intermittent (every months or so) cruise control not activating. Seems to have fixed the issue.
Had the car detuned to run on 95 (Vortex 98 ) as I have a Caltex fuel card for work and the octane rating of Caltex fuels is lower than most of the other suppliers by quite a bit.
Had the car run on the dyno at a recent dyno day and still made over 200kwaw so I'm happy.
