Is it easy to swap the facelift cluster case with existing cluster case? Should I just remove the face off each and swap them round?

Yes :) .. You just have to remove the 4 screws that hold the outer case together and then switch them :) .. The tricky part is if you also want to change the needles and the LEDs .. Firstly because the needles can be a hassle to get out because they are tightly fastened ... And secondly because the LEDs are veery small so you will need someone that can work with SMD components :)

Very veeery easy to fit took me 10min :)

Also painted my motor cover, the circuit box and the battery box gloss black and the next step is to have some of it covered by carbon foil so that is gonna be a mix of gloss black and carbon ;)

It was a perfect fit :) so you don't need to pierce anything and it only takes 30 min to fit

Hello Niqlai! Really loved your project! I would like to know how hard was the headlights mod and if you started doing the head unit project as I'm thinking to start doing the facelift project too. Any recommendations of where to buy the part's would be appreciated!

Best regards
David

I can recommend allegro.pl or ebay if polska is to much of a hassle for you :) and I know it's not been so bad for Yyb and Mrseriouscat but my headlight is still causing me a he'll of a lot of trouble and still are

I have the problem right now that my afs won't allow me the code it

same here, my afs ecu dont accept any coding change and currently dont work at all. need to be kinda unlocked via vcp, gathering the info currently.

also, I believe that all facelift lights, front and rear, are perfectly (or nearly perfectly maybe) compatible with pre-facelift BCM. tried playing with BCM outputs via VCP today, managed to make rear lights to work 100% properly (no always-on rear fogs or anything), managed front sidelights and DRL to work.

the only 2 problems I didnt solve at this moment: 1) front sidelights way too bright, need to play with dimming values; 2) front sidelight bulbs are still reporting errors, although I disabled all cold checks for all available BCM channels.

The only problem with mine is that the leveling of my xenon lights doesn't work and the LED stripe is flashing

I fixed LED flashing on started engine by changing dimming for both DRL and sidelight channels to 2.
With value of 1, it goes blinking after engine start.

Okay .. where did you say changed that ? Because I will try that then

Also the fun part is that if I start my engine they don't flash but after 5-7 min they start to

And i will also try to change the can-gateway to see if that maybe helps on the leveling and coding of my afs .. because in the new Rocco the afs ends with an F and the on I'm using ends with E and is from a golf 7 with LED/xenon and the software should be the same

You need VCP (Vag Can Pro) to play with BCM output management, dimming and so on.

MrSeriousCat can provide you with additional info about what it is and how to obtain it in Europe, I believe. PM him.

Mine go blinking after 5-10 seconds after engine start.

Gateway has nothing to do with AFS ECU, your ECU is locked just as mine, it needs to be unlocked first and re-configured then.
I was told that we need to change one bit in coding, thus disabling start-stop option in AFS ECU. Start-stop flag enabled in coding is the reason ECU dont work properly.
