This is my first VW. If it had AWD, it would be a blast.

What about you? What do you have?

I've got a 2012 Scirocco.

Quick question ... does the exhaust sound louder when the car is cold? Image

Tapatalking ...
Ahh lovely!
Yes mine does mate, revs over 1000 for a minute then drops below

Yeah I agree, I always wondered why the R doesn’t have AWD.. tbh since having my car on lowering springs, and now the fresh tyres my car sticks to the road like glue..
I have a 2010 2.0 TSI mate

what do you think about this? I'm thinking of buying it together with an exhaust cutter and do it myself. (clamps are included)

Hello mate, tbh I’m no expert on exhausts.. seems the sort of price you’d pay for the pipe, would hell of a lot louder than my because you get rid of the big 90 looking bend

Yeah definitely get a fluid change and some decent pads.

Best to just go at your own pace the gradually build speed through the day.

Youll love it
I’m in Cambridgeshire mate, I’ve had a look at a few places like Rockinham, Silverstone etc..
I did see a thread about new brake lines, pads and fluid, is there any you recommend?

Ok thats a good spot. your right next to bedford autodrome. huge airfield so plenty of space to run off.
I cant remember if you upgraded your brakes but if your on stock calipers, id recommend motul fluid. As for pads, it can get really expensive, id recommend ebc yellowstuff pads. I want to try bluestuff pads for mine.
bring some tools with you and obviously some oil too.

Hello mate, me and my mate did them at his work so yeah I managed to get quite lucky... I’m really unsure how much they do charge I’ve seen a few things on the forum, a rough guess between £80-150 depending who n’ where..

I know I'm probably missing something here, but I've been scrutinising the two photos and I'm struggling to see any difference between them. What exactly have you done?

Sorry if this comes across as rude - that's not my intention! I'm actually on the lookout for a good interior cleaner, so I would be interested in this, if it's as good as you say. I'm just a bit confused. I thought 'shine' was a good thing when it comes to cleaning. :?

Hahah not rude at all mate, pictures don’t really do it justice. Basically, shiny leather is dirty leather, as you can see on the pad after, it’s filthy... I haven’t cleaned it using product it’s just I see a video of those “Magic Erasers”
Image
If you look at that pic particularly at the bottom the greasy shine look on it .
And then after it looks more like a matte finish, that’s what leather should look like [emoji1303]

Ah, of course - I'm with you now! Never thought about shiny leather being dirty leather, but you're quite right. Nice work.
