Re: 2009 TSI 2.0 single vs dual flywheel
If you fit a DMF, it will be OK. If you fit a SMF it might not be OK and then you've got the hassle and expense to change it again. For me, for the sake of saving £100 it's just not worth the risk and that's nothing compared to the grief your wife will give you. You pays your money you take your cha...

Re: 2009 TSI 2.0 single vs dual flywheel
Why would it be false? Just curious? VW are famous for cost cutting so if they thought they could have got away with a cheaper SMF at the factory, they would have. Fitting a SMF is likely to cause more vibration and may make pulling away less smooth. The additional vibration may also put additional...

Re: 2009 TSI 2.0 single vs dual flywheel
Personally I would stick with the dual mass flywheel, as originally fitted to the car. I understand your trying to keep the costs down, however I firmly believe fitting a single mass flywheel would be false economy.

Re: Cigarette lighter not working
Just double checking that you have the ignition on when you're checking it? Does the 12V socket in the boot work?

I would imagine the difference is the foglight. I can't remember whether the facelift has one or two rear foglights.

Yes but you need a minimum amount of posts to be able to view it. Saying that, there are not many on there for sale.

Re: Tailgate will not open.
I'm sure you're aware but when opening the tailgate using the keyfob you need need to press and hold the middle button for a few secs for it to open. Have you tried it with the 2nd keyfob?

Re: More Bluetooth & RNS510 questions….
You could look into getting the highest revision of part number 7P6 035 730 E The letter "E" at the end is the revision and it goes to the next letter when it's updated. The highest I've seen is "N". It's worth having a look at the part number and revision that is currently fitted.

Re: More Bluetooth & RNS510 questions….
Sadly, that's not an option. The RNS315 has integrated BT and as such there is no external module.

Re: More Bluetooth & RNS510 questions….
If its the OEM BT module it's located under the driver's seat in a polystyrene box and yes can be swapped for a later version which should support your phone. Apologies, I don't know part number module you require as there are many and to be honest it's a bit of a minefield.

Re: Brake disc size help please
Wheel / tyre size have no bearing on the size of the brake discs, it's based on the power output. You need to double check but I believe the 150PS (148bhp) diesel uses the same size front discs as the earlier 140PS (138bhp), which ìs 288mm vented as opposed to the 312mm vented used in the higher pow...

Re: Navigation and audio info no longer showing on MFD scree
Sounds as if the coding has changed, either due to the battery being disconnected or when the garage had VCDS connected. You'll need to have it recoded to display those functions on the MFD.. A couple of times on my car I've lost the audio and the phone display on the MFD only for them to reappear t...

Re: Car unlocking itself
Double clicking the lock button on the keyfob disables the deadlocks but sorry can't remember if it also disables the alarm.
As said above, there is a button on the driver's side B pillar that you push before closi g the door to disable the interior sensors.

First thing you need to do is scan the car for fault codes as this will probably point you in the right direction.

Re: Price of front coil spring!
The adaptive dampers have no impact on the cost of the spring. It's just a normal spring. That sounds like the price of the OEM spring from the dealer. As you say you can pick up a pattern part relatively cheaply from ECP and the likes. Personally, while the strut is stripped, I also assemble with a...

Re: Question regarding R engines
The R uses the older EA113 belt driven engine as used the MK5 Golf GTI and is a very reliable engine. Later facelifted Rs used the same engine but output increased from 265 to around 280. Thanks, I understand, do you know anything about the DSG gearbox too, is it good? Also, the model I'm looking a...
