Surprised there is no codes stored, although it depends on what type of code reader you used. Some of the cheaper ones don't display all the codes.
EPC light normally refers to the fly by wire throttle therefore areas to look at are the throttle body and the throttle pedal.

Re: Scirocco Rim Swap Compatibility
No you're wrong with the 6mm because you've not taken into account the extra 0.5" width of the wheel. Therefore the wheel will have 12.35mm* less clearance on the outside to the wheel arch and 0.35mm* less clearance on the inside to the strut. * 6mm offset +6.35mm width = 12.35mm * 6.35 mm widt...

Re: Scirocco Rim Swap Compatibility
Yes, you could add 8mm/10mm spacers all round which would effectively give you an offset of ET42/40, so only 1mm difference from OEM. If you decide to go down this route I would recommend hubcentric spacers to avoid any possible vibration issues. For reference the centre bore for both types of wheel...

Re: HELP - Snapped coilpack eyelet cable
When some work is done on your car either by yourself or by someone else you become more assertive to looking for changes / issues and sometimes you pick up on something that you never noticed previously and persuade yourself it's new. We've all been there, enjoy the Scirocco.

Re: HELP - Snapped coilpack eyelet cable
Cheers for the advice guys. The EPC/Check engine light comes on briefly when you first turn the keys then disappears once the engine is on so I will give the battery a reset and see if that was the fault. Apologies, if I'm misunderstanding what you are saying. When you switch on the ignition the ch...

Re: HELP - Snapped coilpack eyelet cable
If the car is running fine albeit with the EPC / EML on then the wire must be fine. If it was not the car would at best be running rough and at worst not start at all. EPC light being on normally either points towards an issue with the throttle pedal or the throttle body. As you fitted a CAI the thr...

Re: HELP - Snapped coilpack eyelet cable
Assuming the length of the wire is OK, just crimp on another suitable diamater eyelet and bolt onto the earth point.

Re: How to tell if I once had headlight washer jets?
The only way to get headlamp washers with halogen lights is for the car to be specced with the optional Winter Pack which comprises of heated seats (cloth trim), headlamp washers and low washer fluid indicator. Just to add for completeness, headlamp washers are standard fit with Xenon and heated sea...

Re: Tpms light not illuminated
It does sound as if it's been coded out if the light isn't illuminating when you switch on the ignition. The TPMS is inherent within the ABS controller and the only other part is the reset button which is directly wired into the ABS controller. If the reset button or the wiring were the issue the li...

Re: Washers only work when the bonnet is up
Could it be that your car thinks the bonnet is up? (Faulty bonnet switch or something) If that were the case, they wouldn't work at all. Also, the instrument cluster would show an open bonnet continuously. As he says, it's as if the signal from the bonnet switch has been reversed. It's certainly a ...

Re: Washers only work when the bonnet is up
Sounds like it as I'm pretty sure the wipers and washers don't normally work with the bonnet up as there is the risk of the wipers fouling the bonnet.

Re: Help! White Smoke from Exhaust!
You do get white smoke when the DPF is doing a regeneration therefore check it's not constantly trying to do a regen. You can tell it's doing a regen by an increased idle speed, a rough throaty sound from the engine and a sensation of heat. If you switch during a regen cycle the radiator fans run on...

Re: Washers only work when the bonnet is up
i think you were mistaken about the wipers previously working when you are stationary. On my Scirocco the wipers stop when I'm stationary and start again when I start moving and always have done. With regards to the headlight washers they only work when the headlights are on and don't operate everyt...

Re: Fault Finding
As you just bought it from a dealer, just get them to diagnose it and fix it. Yes, if the battery voltage is low or you've just re-connected the battery those 3 lights come on until the car is driven a few hundred yards and the steering angle sensor calibrates. Obviously you can check the voltage wi...

Normally clicking / knocking on full lock is the sign of a worn outer CV joint.
