Careful what you lube them with - they are made from recycled plastic and IIRC they disintegrate and pop off if you use the wrong stuff.

Just to say IIRC the winter pack cars have a larger washer bottle so may not be quite as easy as hoped

Should work fine Ive been using an Ipod classic for years with only the odd lock up. The only thing IIRC is to set the voltage on the RCD510 to avoid distortion .Is the media cable a VW original ? 7 Speed DSG

Golf Mk7 R is the front runner for my next car. Good standard kit . You could try resetting the ipod - Disconnect ,hold the centre and menu button til the screen goes black, release and wait for reboot . Reconnect.

Got mine March 2009 after a 7 month wait. Apart from the odd squeak/rattle has been faultless and fantastic.
