Re: Sticking fuel filler flap
Hi just updating about my sticking fuel filler flap, I decided to investigate, access was through the filler flap (assuming you can get it to open- try clicking unlock on the remote whilst gently depressing the flap. Assuming this works undo the single screw holding the filler cap surround in place,...

Re: Sticking fuel filler flap
Thanks very much for your advice- the thread you mentioned gives 2 options to remove it , either through the filler cap flap or via the wheelarch- can you suggest which would be the better option?
advice would be much appreciated

Sticking fuel filler flap
Hi recently fuel filler flap sticks closed, usually if I lock then unlock it, it frees, sometimes this doesn't work but if I lock then unlock whilst gently pressing on the flap to take tension off the opening spring it opens no problem, have tried cleaning and lubricating plunger with a teflon lubri...

Re: noise from tyres
Hi , how old are the tyres?- they all get noisier with age- the rubber hardens and will also get noisier as they wear- reduced depth of blocks in the tread, also wider and lower profile mean more noise. I'm on Pirelli Pzeros and they are significantly noisier than they used to be maybe drive it hard...

Sitting at the lights with your foot on the brake will piss off the driver behind- particularly at night the brake lights are v. bright

Re: rattle near air vent drivers side .. i think
Try opening the bonnet and look at small triangular area with a perforated base just under the edge of the windscreen- I had a problem with a bit of debris caught there that vibrated at certain speeds

Re: 2.0 TSI - my new fuel record
I calculated my mpg by recording miles covered between filling tank- my best was 39
I used to get about 600 miles out of a tank full on my old Scimitar coupe- but that did have a 20 gallon tank!

Re: Adaptive chassis control
Hi worn shocks are not the issue- raised the issue with main dealer when car was a few months old with only 3,000 on clock, still has only 33,000. I would have thought that I should see a voltage spike on switching between modes, and I have never detected a change in the steering

Re: What alloys/steelies will fit? What do 16" Steels look
I've got 205/55/16, Still got summer tyres on at moment so can't send photo. Steel wheels are black and I think look ok against white car. I did get some wheel covers but they look crap! You could get a set of cheap alloys to fit the tyres but might deteriorate in winter weather. Steel wheels are sa...

Re: What alloys/steelies will fit? What do 16" Steels look
I have a set of winter tyres on steels I used them last winter- amazing difference- tyres are Vredstein Snowtracks, got mine thro Openo - must admit they don't look as pretty but who cares when you are sailing past rest of traffic stuck in snow Buy your tyres and wheels now- they cost much more once...

Re: What to do for winter?
Buy some winter tyres, best a bit narrower and higher profile, a set of steel wheels makes loads of sense but don't look as pretty I got some vredstein snowtracks- what an amazing difference. Remember wheels on Scirocco are different to the Golf so unlikely to get scrap yard wheels but they are not ...

Winter tyres and steel rims
I am intending to fit a set of steel wheels and winter tyres to my car this winter- I know they don't look great but made a huge difference to the wife's Corsa last year. Am buying them now as prices will rocket as winter gets near Intended rims are 16inch 6.5J and intended tyres are Vredstein Snowt...
