Thanks very much for your advice- the thread you mentioned gives 2 options to remove it , either through the filler cap flap or via the wheelarch- can you suggest which would be the better option?

fill it with top quality diesel not supermarket stuff- the genuine article has higher lubricity

Hi , how old are the tyres?- they all get noisier with age- the rubber hardens and will also get noisier as they wear- reduced depth of blocks in the tread, also wider and lower profile mean more noise. Buy some winter tyres, best a bit narrower and higher profile, a set of steel wheels makes loads of sense but don't look as pretty I got some vredstein snowtracks- what an amazing difference.
