Looking at the battery area, the move of the battery is simple. Its the relocation and extension of 5 or so earth points that would be a pain in the arse.

Is it actually blowing cold air? If the refrigerant is low then the system senses this and requires the clutch to kick in to circulate the refrigerant from the low to high side to cool the air, the lower the refrigerant the more regularly the compressor needs to turn thus drawing from the aux pulley...

Considered removing the AC setup and moving the battery whilst its all stripped down?

VW recommend a minor service every 10k, as you've done 30k between services its probably best you go for the major eh.

If your going stage1 then this will take a 140 tdi to a 170 or thereabouts. Considering the additional price of insurance and costs of mods you would be better off just getting a 170 to start with
