P10A0 control circuit for air intake regulating flap - short to GND intermittent?

Hi, my Roc has generated this fault code, which an independent dealer's DTC reader found for me after I noticed loss of supercharger compression at lower revs and was rev limited to 3,000. This flap is the one at the centre as the air intake hose crosses the top of the engine under the engine cover ...

Re: Acceleration hesitation at 2500-3500 reps

Could be misfiring; some older 1.4s misfire - a precursor to a much bigger problem I'm afraid. A sensor may be restricting fuelling to the injectors. The engine management light wouldn't necessarily appear but if you take it to a dealers or have a mate with a device they ought to be able to see if t...

Re: MDI and Iphone

You have the latest update but I don't know if they guarantee forward operability with later iPhones models post-2011. I don't have one myself. Also I don't see how the AUX volume which is the 3.5mm audio jack, would affect the digital sound quality going down a USB cable? Sent from my SM-G965F usin...

I see it's a 1.4 from your other posts, but a post - 2012 one. So hope it's not the misfire problem.

Re: Rear Tyre Wear and Noise

Yep I had this too. I just ran the car with the noise once I realised what it was. Only replaced the tyres once they became so old they were potentially going to perish anyway (low annual mileage, me!) What tyres did you have on originally? Mine were Bridgestone re050a (from memory), 17" rim. S...

Re: 1.4 tsi 160 engine died!

My money would be on a previous repair because of the misfire / loss of compression problem on these engines. You may have been sold a turkey - assume you don't have any comeback against the seller?

Because it's a 2009 160 worth bearing in mind also that the cylinders may not last forever either

My 1. 4 happily does 40mpg even with the foot down. It's a very economical engine although I may just have one of the good ones!

Re: 1.4 or 2.0 petrol

Hi All. Looking to buy either a 1.4 or 2.0 petrol. Would prefer the 2.0 but worried about fuel use. Anyone have any experiences or thoughts?, any comments would be helpful 2.0 unless it's a post 2012 model. (from a 1. 4 owner). You can read up about the earlier 1.4 piston failures on here. Depends what you mean by the question - you can't put videos on either SD card or Mdi interface, but you can put music on both. I have a 150Gb solid state USB drive in the centre console at present

Re: Identifying a head-unit and what you can or cant do with

I have that one. The firmware in radio can't be updated but the mdi interface can be, to improve the range of hard disks/memory cards it can accept. And possibly access speed and sizes.

I've never been aware of any issues with the chain. I'm sure others on here would know how much the new pistons would be - might involve reboring the cylinders.

Re: 1.4 tsi 160 hp increase reliability / life support mods

Have a MY2010 160 here and engine was replaced by VW when it failed in warranty. So I think I now have the post-2012 engine. I'm not great at not ragging it when the engine is cold because a lot of my journeys are short. That may have led to the earlier death of my previous engine. Now only use 97 R...

New alloy wheel centre covers

Folks, what do you reckon of these? Got a pack of 4 on amazon after one of mine started playing pinball in the car wash [emoji1] and the rest of them were starting to get old. About 9 quid with free delivery. They look imitation, but made with the same materials. The giveaway is the slightly too lar...
