Re: 1.4 tsi 160 hp increase reliability / life support mods

Does anyone have any info about supercharger maintenance? I know that the oil supposed to be 'filled for life', but if anyone watched the wheeler dealers episode with the supercharged mini, it was close too 100k miles and it had actually ended up consuming some of the oil within the supercharger eve...

The gauge itself is just a standard boost gauge and the boost tap needed for the vacuum line is from Forge. Mounts between the map sensor and the top of the block.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Held on to the unlock button to see the Windows go halfway down and stop. Flattened the battery and had to bump it. Only had it a week. Don't bump the engine if you've got a twincharger! Has been known to make the timing chain slip/stretch and cause damage, a weak point about this engine. Also don'...

Re: Should I have push started my scirocco?

From what I read a couple months ago, when bump starting the 1.4 there's a risk of the timing chain slipping a tooth if your tensioner is faulty/failing (or if the chain has stretched over time).

Re: Driver seat cover/blanket ?

Hello hello I had some tailored seat covers made for mine, wasn't a big fan of the cloth seats, but so far so good, they are durable and look very nice in person http://i.imgur.com/0uv2ouil.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QYXQRt5l.jpg The company is called seat covers direct, took a few weeks for the order t...

Re: Free Data Plug - Limited offer from VW

VW don't give anything away for free so I would assume they are collecting all the data with a view to using it in the future. Picked one up couple of weeks ago out of curiosity, lady at the dealer pretty much told me straight up that I won't find it useful, it's more for people who can't even open...

Re: Need info on insurance and mods

I was 24 when i first got my Scirocco and I found and actually renewed with direct line with their young drivers box thing. Its a black box but not a traditional style one where your premium is affected throughout the year. You basically get around a 30% discount straight away to use their box, whi...

Try this way, will be giving it a go soon too to route a vacuum line to the cabin.

Re: Scirocco problem windows stuck 1inch open

I've had that happen to me when I disconnected the battery with the doors open, the fix for me was simply turning the ignition on, closing the doors, dropping the windows down all the way and then manually all the way back up and the sensors for the window height should reset.

Re: Wrong Choice?

Fair doos man, congratulations on the new purchase anyway! Living in London I found the 1.4 is more than adequate for my needs, plus being a young driver like yourself, insurance is a big thing to think about. If you do have your doubts why not go to another dealership and test drive the 2L and comp...

Re: Wrong Choice?

I can't comment on that specific engine performance wise, but honestly, in terms of handling and how well the chassis holds the road, it will definitely be a fun car to drive. More so then your previous i20 that's for sure! I just re-read your post, I'm assuming you're purchasing a brand new one?

Re: Strange rattling/vibrating coming from blower

Lol - that's brilliant!...although I can't laugh too much, about 10 years back I had a similar issue and it was a royal mail receipt that somehow managed to work its way into the blower. I burst out laughing as soon as I popped it out and spotted the tissue loool Yeah my guess is that when I shifte...
