Hi whiteoak, you have good taste . It's not my daily driver and I'm in it 2-3 days a week maximum. I love everything about it and wouldn't change anything. The looks, sound, speed (not that i really get to test it to its full potential) aggressiveness...just everything makes me smitten with it.

I'd have that sorted in a full day with a rotary, Flex 3401, Lake Country purple foamed wool pads, Scholl Navy pad, Scholl S3 Gold XXL and Scholl S40. Paint thickness measurements taken first. In my experience, a Scirocco has around 130 microns of paint which is decent to work with unlike some Japan...

Buy some Lake Country thin foamed wool pads and some Scholl S3 Gold XXL along with Scholl S40 and a Scholl orange pad to refine and you will thank me later.

I see the RRP has dropped on all Scirocco models...

I imagine there will be extra kit added to the last models to tempt folk.

I've got a 1.4 TSI and have the Interlagos alloys which I really like. I might get an R model around this time next year and think the Cadiz alloys really suit it. I guess it's all subjective!

As I reported on a different thread, the Scirocco is not being continued. This will be the last year of production. Over in France, a limited edition version called "Ultimate Scirocco" will be offered later this year to give it a final farewell. It is based on the R-Line version only with ...

Built and left factory 18/9/15
Left Setubal on City of Paris ship 26/9/15
Arrived at Tyne port 2/10/15
Arrived at dealer 9/10/15

I machine polished with Scholl blue polishing pad and Scholl S20 followed by Scholl S40 on Scholl orange pad. Paint depth readings were fairly consistent - 120 to 130 microns everywhere apart from the back on the panel where the VW sign is. Readings here were around 105. https://s21.postimg.org/7u4q...
