Re: How to clean a leather steering wheel

You don't need to use much either, else it gets stuck in the perforations and it's a b***h to get out!

Re: RCD510 USB audio - chirping

I seem to have found the problem, it just means I have some work to fix it. The 510 may support a 320 kbps bit rates but my files are quite large because of this (14mb as an example) and I think it has a hard time loading such large files and playing them smoothly. I tested one file by converting it...

Re: RCD510 USB audio - chirping

So a bit more investigation... I put the same mp3 onto an SD card and tried to play it. I get the same problem, well it sort of skips a bit instead of the chirping but it's more or less the same. Is there a particular bit rate or format that these stereos can or can't read? Are there any specs for t...

RCD510 USB audio - chirping

Hey everyone. So I managed to get hold of a new RCD510 unit, thanks to skydemon for that. My old unit had 3 problems, the CD changer didn't work at all, it kept randomly switching between media and radio, and the music on my USB stick kept 'chirping' during songs. Thankfully the new unit has a worki...

Re: How often do I use polish

Lol, I was referring to using a leather chamois, MF cloths are the way to go  You shouldn't need to use detailing spray after you've polished, that should be enough. You can use it for keeping the bodywork clean if it's only lightly dusted, or if you are just doing a quick wash and dry, then go...

Re: How often do I use polish

Ashley offers some great advice there, good products to use too (although I won't get into the chamois debate! :shake:). I just used purple gaze myself for the first time, amazing results!

Re: Hard Paint and scratch removal

I'm in the middle of going over my car panel by panel with a DA polisher. It's all about the type of polish and pads you use, but also a DA won't do much scratch removal, a rotary polisher will be required for good results. I've managed to get out all the swirls from mine but there are still a few s...

Re: Hand polishing

So I bought myself a DAS6 pro last week and have spent a little time working on the roof. It's not perfect but I'm pleased with the results so far. No swirls, just a few nics and scratches that I'll work on in the next few weeks. VWs have hard Paint so it hasn't been easy and I've had to select the ...

Re: Hand polishing

So, I've given it a good go today and the result is...If I get the money together I'll be buying a machine polisher. I dare say if you spend a couple of days working on it you will see results. However, I spent a good hour on just a small section of the car as a test. That bit has a lovely shine now...

Just bought one of these off ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261542922929?redirect=mobile" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A copy of the hex logic ones I think but made by Flexipads which get some good recommendations on detailing world. Apparently SRP is the best polish to...

Hand polishing

Hi there. I've always taken great care in cleaning my cars and use the right products and process to do so. Buying a black car is something I swore I would never do again but alas I was seduced by my Scirocco and made the purchase. As all owners of black cars will know, this comes at a price when it...
