Re: 09 2.0tsi misfire whilst driving. Now won't start.

A failed coilpack will cause misfiring, but I would expect the car to still be able to start...

Re: Wastegate clip

Search this forum and you will find a few threads about it (with the part number included).

You can buy the clip from the usual places: TPS, eBay, a dealer, etc.

I have no idea why that's happening, but if I were you I would try disconnecting the battery for a while.

Re: RCD330+ Radio

I've fitted one of these in my 2009 (with red MFD), and I can help with some of your questions: On my steering wheel (which only has 8 buttons), I can change volume but I can't change the track, because there's no Audio screen on the MFD anymore. With the 12 button steering wheel, which has dedicate...

Re: what polish for candy white?

Ahh.. you mean waxes. (Purple Haze is a wax, not a polish).

I'm sceptical about needing different waxes for different paint colours, so I would suggest buying a decent general purpose wax. You will find lots of suggestions on the Detailing World forum.

Probably the worst that can happen is they'll need an alignment tweak during your next MOT.

Why would your polishes be no good?

Re: re-position headlights

Lining up with the clean bit is probably as good as you can get it. I'm guessing the flexibility in the positioning is so that the lights can be properly aligned with the bodywork.

Thanks! I'm guessing the DSG will probably sound the same (in manual mode).

Re: Stutter - hard acceleration in low revs

When you say "stutter" do you mean actually misfiring, or do you mean a hesitation in the power delivery?

I've also noticed a hesitation when the revs are low.

Standard R exhaust - does it pop/gurgle?

I'm hoping to upgrade to an R this year, and I'm wondering what I should be expecting from the exhaust sound. My GT (with DSG) makes a nice "parp" when it upshifts, but I've never managed to produce any popping or gurgling. Does the standard R exhaust pop/gurgle? EDIT: I should say that I'...

On my car I can open the flap whether the car is locked or not.

I'm not worried about it though.

Re: Petrol Flap not locking!

I had another look at mine at lunch time. There's a plastic "arm" at the top of the flap, with a hole in it. Is that what the lock is supposed to go into? Because when the flap is closed, that arm is against smooth plastic, no sign of a lock!

My 2009 GT flap doesn't lock either. I'm not sure there's actually a lock in there!

If you don't know what you're doing, then I would suggest paying somebody to fit one. It won't be hugely expensive and it will save you a lot of hassle.

Re: What do you use to condition leather seats?

You shouldn't need to condition the leather in your Scirocco, as it's sealed with a clear lacquer (like almost all modern automotive leather). You just need a mild leather cleaner and/or water. Don't forget that clean leather should look matte, not shiny. If you use a product that leaves the leather...
