Re: How to tell if I once had headlight washer jets?

On that model year, they were only available if they car had the optional Xenon lights. They were very scarce on the first year models due to supply issues.

Re: Constant metallic buzzing only when I'm applying throttle

See if you have any dry leaves in the scuttle around the wipers. I used to get a buzzing from them as the speed picked up. Cleared them out and the sound disappeared.

They stay in the outbox until they are read by the recipient.
That allows you to edit or delete them while they're waiting to be read.

Re: New to DSG

I've been driving DSG since 2009. I've never once put it in N.

You're not really saving anything putting it in to N. In fact if you go in to N and freewheel you're less in control than if you keep it in D.

Re: Freezing windows.

Yep it's an age old problem with most frameless doors. I'd also vote for gummi. Don't over do it but just put it around all the seals. I also have (as I still have frameless doors but not a scirocco any more) a little squirty bottle which I put tap-hot water in to and run that round the edge of the ...

Re: ACC - am I supposed to notice a difference?

There is definitely a difference. Try going over a speed bump on comfort and sport. Comfort is a bit softer and floaty on a motorway. If you do sport you'll find you jiggle about a lot more.

It needs to end in jpg, png or gif.
You need to get the jpg part out of the BBcode share link.

Re: Winter vs Summer vs All-season Tyres

I've been driving for over 35 years and never needed winter tyres. Not far off the same. I really don't get what it is about people buying them. If you know how to drive properly (low revs to get you going instead of spinning the wheels like mad) and don't try and do the same speeds when it's reall...

Re: Driving Position Ergonomics....

I always felt like I could have done with the steering wheel about 3-5cm closer but I got used to it. I had the seat a little bit more upright that I would have liked, to compensate.

Re: To Garage or Not To Garage

I haven't garaged a car for over 20 years and don't seem to get any rust on them or paint damage. They're much more weather resistant these days. As for parking dings I always park as far away from anyone else as I can and if that's not an option I go for an end bay so I can get well over to one sid...

I've had people in the back of my TTS :)
It's not tooooo bad for them!
The boot is much bigger than it looks. You just have to be careful with stuff that's high as it might hit the window.

Alpine A110?
Cayman?

I have to say my TTS is plenty quick enough but I will admit an M2 is the better car.

Ex-member on here Wigit had one for a couple of years and seemed to like it. He's just chopped it in for a cayman 718S.

Not sure manual is the right choice for that car though.

Re: Just a few questions

I know the first couple.
1 - It toggles on/off the auto dimming function.
2 - Some say yes, some no. I always thought it was worth using. I tended to use comfort on the motorway, normal everywhere else and sport when on A/B-roads.
