Re: Clutch going?

I had this a while ago, the noise is often the release bearing (central slave cylinder) wearing out. The dual mass flywheel will more than likely have too much play as did mine which may cause issues also. You may aswell get it changed [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk I've got the s...

Re: Warranty success because of research!

Has anyone had any success with getting VW to contribute towards the repair cost on an older car that is well out of warranty? My car is coming up 10 years old and has just passed 70,000 miles and I have the same issue. I imagine it'd be a long shot, but just thought I'd ask before shelling out a lo...

Re: LED Lights? Exhaust upgrade? 2.0 TSI newly bought!

Hi guys! So I took the plunge and joined the Rocco life. Bought my first Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI 200bhp today and I was hoping to do some upgrades asap. So firstly, could anyone recommend some nice white LED lights for the main bulbs, the smaller side light strips and the fog lights? And considering I ...

Re: Centre Hub Caps

My opinion: don't waste your time on the cheap replicas as they will deteriorate much quicker. I bought 4 new OEM caps when i got my car 3 years ago and they still look perfect today.

Re: Chipped 1.4 or standard 2.0?

You'll definitely have trouble with insurance declaring a remap for a new/young driver. Wouldn't recommend the 2.0 TSI for a new/young driver either.

Stick to the stock 1.4.

Got my BCS catback exhaust fitted - looks and sounds fantastic and turns a few heads when I give the throttle a tickle! :hyper: Big thanks to Nige & co.

Received the same letter yesterday, mine is also a 2009 build. If they apply a software update, is it going to interfere with or over-write my map?

Re: New Sirocco Ordered

I'm not sure about the 1.4 TSI but super unleaded is advised for the 2.0 TSI. I used bog standard fuel until I went stage 1; now she only gets V Power.

Re: Carbon cleaning/walnut blasting - Scotland

Update: VES Sport, near Dunblane - no response -Star Performance, Kirkcaldy - £299 incl. VAT -Autohaus, Edinburgh £270 incl. VAT I went with Autohaus in the end and they did a great job. The guys there were a pleasure to deal with and took some before and after picture of the valves. They removed th...

Carbon cleaning/walnut blasting - Scotland

I'm pretty sure that my car is suffering from carbon buildup on the intake valves - rough/lumpy idle but stable rpm, intermittent loss of power while accelerating, no CEL, coming up to 60k miles. Does anyone know of places in Scotland (preferably North East) that offer carbon cleaning, either manual...

Re: Decision to make!

My issues are: I expect the fuel consumption difference won’t be huge between the two, all in all and certainly not much worse with the 2.0 than my current 36mpg on the motorway? Is there a huge difference in running costs between the two? Mine's a 2009 2.0 TSI with Revo stage 1. Get around 29mpg d...

Re: Brake change

I did A LOT of checking before ordering my discs and pads, which included checking my car's PR code and calling up the parts desk at the local VW dealer. 312 x 25mm front and 253 x 10mm rear for my 2.0 TSI, but as above don't always rely on car part websites.

Re: Scirocco 2.0tsi misfire on tickover.

I have a very similar issue...car shakes/judders every few seconds when ticking over. No EML and the rev counter is stable, not jumping. Only notice the problem when the car is idling once it has warmed up and revs have settled down to around 800rpm. Already changed all coilpacks and plugs, no diff...
