Re: Handover day.

Ring him and confirm it.

He would have had to tax the car, so they will usually put 7 day insurance on it.

Re: Handover day.

Patrick. Relax. It will be fine. You've been approved for the finance, so you won't get knocked back for credit reasons now. If you're unsure of what you will need to have to hand when you collect, just ask your dealer. Assuming that you're buying new, the car will be taxed and you will have drive-a...

Re: Detailing Sprays - Do They Scratch Paintwork?

Generally, quick detailer sprays have decent lubricity and will prevent marring of the paintwork on a clean car, if used with a good cloth. That said, a quick detailer is designed to be used to add a layer of protection at times when a full wax detail isn't an option.. Really, they are designed to b...

Congrats, mate!

For obvious reasons, I'm a little jealous, but I'm also pleased for you more, as I know how excited I was.

Enjoy the car buddy....and get some pic's up!

Re: JCB Medway VW

When I went to order mine I didn't think I would of got accepted for the finance Which I did, they asked me for my driving licence when I applied for it that day, surly they should of asked for your dad's licence if applying for it in his name, surly it's one of the most important things to ask for...

Re: Strange paint blemish

Hi, atce.

I would advise that you pop over to Detailing World and ask over there. There are many guys over there that will be able to advise you on what it is and, more importantly, how to deal with it.

Hope you are able to get it sorted without spending too much.

Re: JCB Medway VW

Cheers, mate. Well, I will still need to get a new car of some kind, as my Astra is on it's last legs....although, whether I'll have the heart to care for it as I wanted to with the brand-new Roc....I'm not sure....so I may well throw some of it up for sale at some point. Why? Got your eye on anythi...

Re: JCB Medway VW

so if your dad had a driving licence everything would be going ahead as normal? Yep. Although, that is ironically turning out to be a blessing in disguise....as, now that I know that they shouldn't have even applied for finance on the car from VWFS in my Dad's name, after I had failed an applicatio...

Re: JCB Medway VW

Oh and if anyone is in the market for an Indium Grey, manual GTS TSi, with added xenons, powerfolding mirrors and smoking pack, with a list price of £30,500, then there is a brand-new one at JCB Medway that they're willing to sell for just over £26,500.

Re: JCB Medway VW

Brocky - i'm really sorry to hear that mate - what an absolute bummer :( Cheers, Lee. To say that I'm gutted doesn't even come close to covering it. The fact that it took four months of waiting for the car, only to be told this a few days before I was due to collect is unreal....not to mention that...

Re: JCB Medway VW

Well, I have some bad news. I am not going to be getting my GTS. Having had my application for the finance part of the deal refused, the dealer applied for it in my Dad's name (though I would still be the registred keeper) and he was approved. This was 4 months ago. Last week, the dealer called me a...

Re: Best Wash Mitt? Zymol Sponge / Sheepskin / Lambswool etc

The Incredisponge isn't a sponge, in the traditional sense, at least.

It's a microfibre mitt with a sponge inside....so you hold it like you would hold a sponge, instead of putting your hand inside, like a mitt. The sponge also helps to create more suds than a mitt, apparently.

Re: Giving My Roc The Viper Treatment

Sorry I can't help you with the viper question , But have you considered having a tracker fitted instead ? The way I see it , the Rocco already has a thatcham approved alarm / immobiliser fitted by VW. Plus (realistically) if the scum really want your car - then they're gonna take it any way. It sa...

Giving My Roc The Viper Treatment

No, not the paint! :shake: I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket alarm for my new GTS. Namely, the Viper 5704V - 2-way security & remote start system . I was wondering ...

I'd like to hope so! That would give me a full week off work to play with it!

I'll speak to James on Monday and see if it's possible....but the last time I spoke to him, he said the back end of the following week.

Re: JCB Medway VW

Cheers, Stretts. Tbh, it's not that I've had a bad experience with the dealer....I just know that he has access to more information than he is giving out. I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he reckons that the car should be ready for me to collect by the back end of the week that I have booked ...

Re: How fast is an R?

Just wax car wash or hand wash. That pressure wash will only take off your wax and get dirt faster again. If pressure washing is removing your wax, you are either holding the jet far too close to the paintwork, or using a very poor quality wax. That said; It's always good practice to reapply wax af...

Re: JCB Medway VW

Hi, Mark. I'm dealing with James. He told me that it came off the line on the 2nd, when I called him , after I noticed on the tracker that it skipped 'build in progress' and went straight to 'In transit'. Funily enough, I mailed him yesterday asking if he could get me a more accurate idea of when it...
