Re: Rcd 510 running by it self until battery is dead

Quite a lot of these sorts of problems seem to be linked to the ignition switch.

Re: Battery flat after being towed

I seem to recall getting the windows popping up and down when I used to try and start it with the steering lock engaged, but this was as a result of turning the ignition off after each attempt - it does that in readiness for you getting out, presuming that you are about to open the doors. Apart from...

Re: Rcd 510 running by it self until battery is dead

Normally the radio should shut off after about 20 minutes when the ignition is turned off. However yours isn't acting normally so I don't know. As regards the warranty - as this seems to be a pre-existing problem that wasn't properly sorted out under warranty then you will probably be able to get yo...

Re: Are my headlights okay?

A simple rule is that if your headlights are shining in to the rear window of the car in front when you are a normal distance behind for a 30 mph road then its throwing the beam too high and needs adjusting. You should be able to see the top limit of your beam somewhere between the bumper and the wi...

Re: deadlock

Probably something to do with people being deadlocked inside the car in emergency situations. On thinking about it I wonder how much use deadlocks are now as a security feature. I would think most thefts from vehicles involve smashing a window and reaching inside. Whereas theft of vehicles will norm...

Re: Brake Dust

You're not one of those drivers who's constantly touching there brakes are you?
Using your brakes less by driving less enthusiastically and by anticipating the road ahead and traffic conditions will create less brake dust. But won't be as much fun perhaps.

Re: IOS7

Try flipping the adaptor over. It does make a difference with IOS7. With my third party adaptor one way round it discharges my phone. The other way it charges it. But IOS7 doesn't like third party chargers / adaptors and won't work at all with some. With mine if just gives a warning about compatibil...

Re: Suggested gear on manual TSI

guys. do all Rocs have a suggested gear function or was it an option? I actually really miss this from my Polo days. I read it comes as an update on the car's firmware. If you take your's into the dealers, they should be able to sort it out Correct. It appeared on mine right after a service one tim...

Re: Looking into sciroccos

That's a Viper Green and can be harder to sell as its not everyone's choice of colour so they may have had it for a while which makes them more open to negotiation. Personally I'd keep looking for a better deal. I would think £9,500 should be nearer the mark on that one, I noticed it does not have l...

Awesome :D .....still think it needs a yellow/gold stripe down the bonnet though :yummy: Yep, I think it does  A guy down out road has one but I only see it in summer. Not sure what engine he's got in it but you can hear him coming long before you see him. Is the 1.6 K the MG-Rover engine?

Re: Heated door mirrors - Dont laugh !!

Just read the manual and it says they do only operate below a specific temperature, however that temperature is 20 degrees Celcius (68 degrees Faranheit):-) LOL  That would explain how they worked for drying the rain off them in milder weather. The control knob in my TT is very similar to the ...

Re: Heated door mirrors - Dont laugh !!

See that little heated mirror logo on the mirror adjust switch, well you rotate the knob until the white dot lines up with it and they switch on. Even if you leave the switch on the "on" position and forget to put it back to "L", "0" or "R", they switch off a...
